A carpenter would usually starts as an apprentice and rising up to become a “Master Carpenter”. There are on-the-job /hands-on trainings provided by colleges, training providers and employers.

Carpenters would need to determine how to perform tasks efficiently and to provide advises on different types of timbers to use, its suitability and durability. Checking on accuracy would also be required, with the use of rulers, levels, plumb bobs, framing squares, etc.
